The working group organized two workshop and one tutorial during MIE 2003, 4 - 7 May 2003, St. Malo, France:
Aim: The goal of the tutorial is to introduce how to define what should be evaluated, and how to formulate adequate evaluation questions. to introduce into available evaluation methods and tools, including both the quantitative and the qualitative approach. to introduce how to select adequate methods and tools for a given evaluation question. and to ntroduce how to chose an adequate study design, and how to overcome typical problems of evaluation studies. This workshop will be organized in cooperation between the EFMI WG on Assessment of Health Information Systems and the IMIA WG on Technology Assessment and Quality Development in Health Informatics (J. Talmon, J. Brender).
This tutorial is scheduled for Sunday, 4th April, 12.30 - 15.30.

Aim: The purpose of this workshop is to capture the experience of the international medical informatics community on educating students on this subject matter, and to analyze what important concepts and methodological skills we need to pass on to our students to enable them to become proficient in designing and conducting evaluation studies. This workshop will be organized in close collaboration with IPHIE, the International Partnership for Health Informatics Education.
This workshop is scheduled for Monday, 5th April, 17.30 - 19.00.
